Oceanographic Radars for the monitoring of marine currents

The university of Toulon and the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanograpphy (MIO) are organising a summer school on HF radar techniques and applications for maritime surveillance as part of the Marittimo Sicomar+ EU Interreg Marittimo project .
The main idea is to bring together the different users of oceanographic HF radar products: students and researchers in oceanography, engineers from public agencies and private companies, instruments manufacturers and maritime authorities.
The scientific, technical and operational aspects of radio-oceanography will be addressed through plenary and topical sessions.
The emphasis will be put on student training with practical computer work sessions and a visit of one radar site in the region of Toulon will be organized for all.
